Rev. Philip Sabas, 75, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday, May 2nd, at Orwigsburg Center.
Born in Camden, NJ on October 22, 1948, he was the son of the late Marjorie L. (Robbins) and Felix P. Sabas.
Philip was the husband of Mary (McComb) Sabas.
He obtained an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in Camden, NJ. He then attended Lancaster Theological Seminary.
After schooling, Philip was employed as a United Methodist Pastor in the Susquehanna Conference. Once retired, he served in the Eastern Conference.
During his military service, Philip served in the U.S. Navy Chaplain Reserves.
Philip is survived by two daughters, Leslie Wiest (Daryl) and Amy Sabas; and grandchildren, James Deaven and Ivy Wiest.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4th at Salem United Methodist Church, Orwigsburg. Interment will follow at Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Orwigsburg.
